Ramky Infrastructure Ltd. bag contracts worth INR 131.19-crores in the UT of Ladakh
RamkyInfrastructure Limited has received two orders to implement the distribution ofthe infrastructural works of Ladakh Power Development Department from PowerGrid Energy Services Limited. The first contract worth INR 107.39-cr (excludingGST) and the second contract worth INR 23.80-cr (excluding GST) is for thesupply of plant and installation services respectively, in the districts of Lehand Kargil of UT of Ladakh.
Thescope of the project broadly involves the construction and commissioning ofseven 66KV electricity substations, 70 km of new electricity distributionlines, 550 km of reconditioning by AB cable, and the installation ofapproximately 400 distribution transformers.
PowerGridEnergy Services Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PowerGrid Corporation ofIndia Limited has awarded the contracts to Ramky Infrastructure Limited to beexecuted over a period of 30 months. The contracts were awarded for the lossreduction work under the Revamped (results-linked) Distribution Sector Scheme(RDSS) in the Leh district.
TheRDSS scheme is intended to minimize the Aggregate Technical and Commercial(AT&C) losses in Ladakh, which are projected to be reduced from 49.04 percent in 2021-22 to 27.85 per cent by 2024-25. With a sanctioned cost of INR 687.05-crores,the RDSS includes the Grid connectivity of the Changthang Region, Downlineinfrastructure in the Zanskar Region along with the Loss Reduction works in theLeh and Kargil Districts of UT of Ladakh.
