Kundan Green Energy hasannounced its mandate to develop a Greenfield hydropower plant at Okhali in thestate of Uttarakhand. The Government awarded the project to Kundan Green Energyin continuation of the company’s consistently demonstrated record of executinghydropower projects on best-in-class standards, committed timeframe, andoptimal results.
To be completed in 2028,the project will generate 42MW of power (with a future potential to expand thisto 60MW), adding very substantially to the state’s renewable energy generation.The Okhali project is part of the larger mandate to add a total of 80MW throughGreenfield projects to Uttarakhand’s hydropower generation capacity at aninvestment of `1,000-crore byKundan Green Energy, per an agreement signed late last year.
Once commissioned, the Okhaliproject will take the combined hydropower capacities of Kundan Green Energy to 270MWfrom the present 104MW (+ an additional 24MW at the under-construction project atRally Chu in Sikkim).
