LafargeHolcim to collaborate with IIT Hyderabad for smart building solutions
  • The academiccollaboration led by LafargeHolcim Innovation Centre will be supported by groupcompanies ACC and Ambuja Cements in India.

  • Study will exploresmart sensing technology for continuous on-site strength evaluation of aconcrete structure.

LafargeHolcimhas partnered up with the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) tocollaborate on the development of innovative and smart building solutions. Thisnew academic collaboration with one of the reputed institutes in the country willbe implemented through a research project funded by LafargeHolcim InnovationCentre (LHIC), focusing on ‘Standardisation of Smart sensing technology for ContinuousAssessment of Internal State and Compressive Strength of Concrete’.

Thisstudy will explore smart sensing technology for continuous on-site strengthevaluation of a concrete structure that can eventually reduce the time cyclefor construction of buildings and infrastructure and also ensure highlyaccurate real-time strength development.

SmartBuilding Solutions can play a vital role in building fast and qualitatively. Realizingits vital importance, LHIC continuously engages with a distinguished academicnetwork to achieve innovation excellence through ‘Sustainable’ and ‘Smart’building solutions and has successfully collaborated with over 40 leadinguniversities.
