Tadano launches new 1250 tonne capacitylattice boom crawler crane – the redefined CC 78-1250-1.

Tadano has introduced the CC 78.1250-1,the next generation of a 1250-tonne capacity lattice boom crawler crane in itslineup. Building on the proven performance of its predecessor, the CC 68.1250-1,this newest model incorporates significant advancements in performance, safety, efficiency, and transportability.

Designed to meet the evolving demandsof heavy lifting applications, including the growing wind power sector, the CC78.1250-1 achieves a maximum hook height of 224.5 meters when it is equippedwith a 15-meter fixed jib. In this configuration, it can lift an outstanding140 tonnes.

To improve its stiffness, the width ofthe base crane was increased to 3.5 meters. Furthermore, the two available crawlershoe widths – 2.0 meters, and 2.4 meters – can accommodate varying groundpressure requirements.

AdvancedDesign and Enhanced Performance

“The CC 78.1250-1 represents a significantstep forward in Tadano's crawler crane development,” says Andreas Hofmann, ExecutiveVice President of Research and Development. “Customer feedback played a crucialrole in its design, ensuring that this crane delivers not only superior liftingcapacity but also transport-optimized components and efficient assemblysequences.”

Tadano’s CC 78.1250-1 is designed tooffer multiple redundancies maximizing uptime and enhancing safety. The cranefeatures a dual-engine arrangement with an optimized hydraulic system, allowingfor single-engine operation at reduced speeds.

Flexible user-friendly interfaces andan optional dual CAN BUS system contribute to increased reliability andoperational flexibility. Additionally, the optional auxiliary power unit enablescab systems, HVAC, and lighting to operate using a compact 17kW diesel engine, reducingfuel consumption and emissions during standby operation.

Safetyand Operator Support

The CC 78.1250-1 offers multiplefeatures designed to enhance operator confidence and job site security. Thecrane is equipped with the Tadano Fall Protection System and incorporatesprotective access to the superstructure and the undercarriage including improvedhandrails, catwalks, and access ladders.

The cab design provides an expandedfield of view, while an array of cameras and mirrors help the operator see thehoist drums and other blind spots around the crane.

AddVersatility with Outriggers

For job sites with uneven terrain, anoptional Pedestal Crane (PC) kit replaces the crawlers on the undercarriage withoutriggers enabling precise levelling at three different outrigger bases – 12mx 12m, 14m x 14m, and 16m x 16m – offering compatibility with existing foundations. This capability enhances set-up efficiency while reducing both time andenvironmental impact.

Sustainabilityand Smart Monitoring

The CC 78.1250-1 features the IC-1control system, which is standard on all Tadano crawler cranes and wellaccepted by operators. The IC-1 also gives the operator real-time groundpressures on the rigging aids when erecting long boom systems. This systemboosts efficiency with intuitive controls and precise configurations andprovides essential information for safe and efficient operations.

The crane's twin Mercedes-Benz enginesare compatible with HVO fuel, reducing CO2 emissions without sacrificingperformance. Additionally, Tadano’s IC-1 Remote telematics solution enablesreal-time diagnostics and remote troubleshooting, minimizing downtime andoptimizing fleet management.

OptimizedTransport and Assembly

The CC 78.1250-1 has been designed forease of transport, which includes accessible lifting points on components tomake the assembly safe and efficient. Manufactured in Zweibrücken, a centre ofexcellence for mobile cranes, the crane adheres to world-class safety standardsand utilizes high-quality components from established partners.

In our ever-changing industry, Tadanoremains committed to delivering lifting solutions that combine reliability, efficiency, and sustainability – ensuring customers can invest with confidence.
