Schwing Stetter Indiainstalls 1.0MW solar power system at its global manufacturing hub in TamilNadu.
Schwing Stetter India, oneof the country’s leading construction and concreting equipment manufacturer, hasrecently installed a 1.0MW solar power system in their global manufacturing hubin Cheyyar. The facility was inaugurated by V G Sakthikumar, Chairman andManaging Director of Schwing Stetter India.
Through this mode of energyproduction, the company aims to make the facility carbon neutral in the nearfuture, as the facility can generate 14 lakh kWh of electricity and fulfil 20per cent of its total annual power needs. With Schwing Global manufacturing hubhaving an enormous potential to manufacture 14,000 machines annually, thisendeavour reflects on Schwing’s commitment to sustainability. This initiativeis also contributing to the Ministry of New and Renewable energy plan ofdoubling the annual solar capacity by the end of 2026.
Commenting on Schwing’scommitment towards sustainability and energy conservation measures, Sakthikumarsaid, “Our operations are fuelled by a sense of obligation towards the environmentand the government’s green energy goals. Schwing has reaffirmed its dedicationto sustainability with green initiatives by building a renewable energyinfrastructure onsite and by committing to further expand their reliance ongreen energy to power their operations. Our initiatives are majorly focused oncarbon neutrality, energy transition, circularity, and eco-friendly operations.”
Last year, to celebrateSchwing’s 25th anniversary and to promote carbon neutrality, thecompany planted 250,000 saplings across the country.
