Perkins extends life and restores performance of 1100 Series engines withnew line of repair sleeves.
Cost-effective solution enables targeted repairs of cylinder bores as aflexible alternative to full engine overhauls.
Perkins hasintroduced a new line of repair sleeves for its 1100 Series engines, enablingend users to return cylinder bores to like-new performance while avoiding thedowntime, expense, and waste of a full engine overhaul. Available nowworldwide, the Perkins® 1100 Series repair sleeves allow technicians to restoreindividual cylinders to their factory dimensions, allowing the original,standard-sized pistons to be retained and maintaining proper engine balance.
Thisprocess significantly reduces the amount of material removed from the block, helping to extend the life of the original casting while minimising shop timeand waste.
The repairsleeves are composed of the same material as the engine block to match thewear, thermal, and machining characteristics. They have been validated byPerkins engineers for optimal stability and durability through physicalaccelerated wear tests, simulation analysis, and material analysis andspecification.
The repairsleeves are suitable for 1100 Series engines configured on off-highwayequipment and power solutions in the field since 2003. Offering power output upto 205 kW (275 horsepower), Perkins 1100 Series engines are used onapplications such as tractors, chippers, grinders and other off-highwayequipment, small generator sets, and small marine propulsion systems.
1100 Seriesengine repair sleeves are available through the Perkins global distributornetwork, which offers a full suite of genuine support and service that helpimprove performance, longevity, and lower total cost of ownership.
