Bothra Shipping Services Pvt Ltd. (BothraShipping) has ordered three all-electric Generation VI Konecranes GottwaldMobile Harbor Cranes for their bulk terminals at the Port of Kakinada. The eco-efficientcranes will be delivered in the second quarter of 2023.
The Bothra Group of companies are internationallogistics service providers based in India. Its subsidiary Bothra Shipping is amajor Indian port operator, delivering end-to-end customized solutions for awide range of cargo.
Bothra Group of companies owns and operatesan eight million metric tons per annum mechanized coal handling terminal(Kakinada Deep Water Port Coal Terminal) and a six million metric tons perannum fertilizer handling terminal (Kakinada Deep Water Port FertilizerTerminal). With the new Generation VI cranes, it aims to increase bulk handlingrate at the terminals, while reducing local carbon emissions and increasing operationalperformance.

This is our first equipment from Konecranes, and we are keen tosee how it raises our productivity and overall eco-efficiency,” says AjitBothra, owner of Bothra Group.
The three new cranes are Generation VI KonecranesGottwald ESP.7B Mobile Harbor Cranes, with a working radius of 51m and acapacity of 125t. The berths associated with the terminals in Kakinada Seaportare well-equipped with high-tension electrical points, to which these cranescan be connected.
The cranes rely on an external power supplywithout an onboard diesel generator set. This drive system enables higherefficiency and lowers operational costs while simultaneously reducing noise andexhaust emissions.
The cranes feature a four-rope hoist systemthat gives them a 63t grab load curve for high bulk handling rates. Incooperation with Konecranes India, Bothra Shipping will receive on-sitetechnical support as they integrate the cranes into their operations.
