AmbujaCements and ACC collaborate with IIT-Delhi to develop next-generation lowcarbon cement.
AmbujaCements and ACC have partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi(IIT-D) to develop next-generation, Calcined Clay Cements, a low carbonmaterial to promote sustainable construction. Both Ambuja and ACC, in alignmentwith its parent company, Holcim, have been consistently leveraging innovationand R&D to build a range of green and responsible products to reduce CO2emissions in India.
Thisacademic collaboration with one of the reputed institutes in India will beimplemented through a research project funded by Holcim Innovation Centre,Lyon, France. It will comprise an in-depth scientific study into the influenceof clinker, calcined clay, and limestone on the performance of calcined claycements. This collaboration aims to create next-generation low CO2cement with more than 50 per cent lower carbon emissions for Indian andinternational consumers.
