ABB India launches premium range of switches

ABB India iselectrifying the country with a smart, safe, and sustainable range of switchesas it launches the Millenium and Zenit ranges.

 

The Indian Modular Switch market is expected to be $1.0-billion by 2022 with CAGRgrowth of 20 per cent. And, with an increasing number of megacities evolving inIndia, the demand for space-saving electrical solutions, such aseasy-to-install, contemporary switches, is only rising.

ABB’s latestMillenium and Zenit switches range is ISI marked offering control, functionality,and comfort to customers in smart buildings and premises that can be easilyupgradable with the latest smart home automation solutions. These switches, tailoredto both homes and commercial buildings, allow customers to switch fromconventional lighting to an eco-efficient intelligent alternative.


The Zenit andMillenium range of switches will be manufactured in India at ABB’s state-of-the-artSmart Buildings factory in Bengaluru. The factory is one of the first in Indiato introduce assembly of switches using ABB’s YuMi® cobot, a dual arm collaborative robot designed to worksafely alongside humans without the need for fences. The factory has the capacityto manufacture over 10,00,000 switches in a year, owing to the increasedefficiency achieved by the application of robotics and automation in thefacility.


The new rangewill also feature ABB-free@home solutions and the flexibility to combine allessential functions of home automation into a single wireless system. Thesepremium ranges of switches are also compatible with ABB i-bus® KNX, a smartsystem through which all devices in a building can communicate with one anotherto ensure seamless and intelligent control of the building for improved comfort,safety, and energy savings.

The Millenium seriesoffers an ultra slim design and sleek finish and more than 50 premium functionsencompassing building and home automation solutions in the modular range.


Based on LEDtechnology, ABB Millenium switches offer a striking design that also deliversup to 50 per cent reduced energy consumption for the user. They includerecyclable packaging options to reduce raw material consumption and haveadditional features, such as access control for hotels and thermostats forbuilding temperature control.

Zenit range ofswitches are available with additional features like multi-room audio solutionsincluding FM radio and alarm options, and music from any device using Bluetooth.Available in four colours with more than 130 functions, Zenit switches blendinto the building environment, are easy to use, energy-efficient, and incurminimal cost when compared to conventional electrical installations.
