Alstom bags contract from Mumbai Metro

Alstomwins €220-million contract to design and manufacture 234 metro cars for MumbaiMetro Lines 4 & 4A.

 

Alstom hasbeen awarded by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) thecontract to design, manufacture, supply, test, and commission 234 metro cars, includingpersonnel training for Line 4 and the extension corridor(Wadala-Kasarvardavali-Gaimukh). The order is valued at €220-million (`1,854-crores).

“Thisfirst order following our merger with Bombardier Transportation demonstratesour continued commitment towards partnering in the country’s Make-in-Indiamission. We are glad to have been awarded this prestigious project by MMRDA andlook forward to commencing work on this,” said Ling Fang, Region President, Alstom Asia Pacific.

New productshave been added to Alstom’s portfolio as part of the acquisition of BombardierTransportation (BT) on January 29, 2021. The combined portfolio of products,signalling, engineering and services allows a significantly increased offeringfor customers across India and the Asia Pacific Region.

Alstomhas been at the forefront of introducing several breakthrough technologies inIndia with world class rolling stock, rail equipment and infrastructure,signalling and services. The company has successfully delivered metro trainsfor the cities of Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Kochi and is currently executing theMumbai Metro Line 3 project.

Black & Veatch bags IEDCL’s 41MW hybrid project
