RNIL announces winners for 1st Inter-College InnovationChallenge, IC2 in Infra, Rail and Agri Tech.
Rajan Nanda Innovation Lab (RNIL), an initiative of Escorts Ltd., has selectedfive start-ups in rail-tech, infra-tech, and agri-tech through itsInter-College Innovation Challenge IC2 to fund, incubate and mentor. Allselected concepts would receive a seed funding from Escorts. Partial andlimited financial assistance would also be provided to nine other ideas forbuilding of prototypes or testing and validating existing prototypes.
The Inter-College Innovation Challenge was launched in February 2020with an aim to identify and nurture unique and innovative ideas in smart construction,rail safety, and agriculture mechanization. The innovation challenge was opento college students and young start-up fraternity, and saw participation fromIndian and international institutions as well as students and alumni of premierengineering and management institutions.
The jury, comprising a multi-disciplinary leadership team fromEscorts, selected ideas that included start-up ideas for AI and IoT-basedapplications in telematics and sensors technologies for smart construction andinfrastructure practices, AI-based rail transport safety technology, and agriculturefor farm productivity.
The Infra-tech based focus invited ideas on Smart constructiontechnology, Automotive Design and Ergonomics. In the Rail-Tech space, studentstart-ups were invited to pitch ideas for Smart Railway innovation incommunication, comfort and safety.
