Ammannhas launched its latest Wheeled Paver inthe Market: the AFW 500 that is an ideal fit for Highway Projects.
Ammann has unveiled apaver that relies on European technology and is well-suited to customers whofocus on larger road projects. The Ammann AFW 500 Wheeled Asphalt Paver isavailable for most of Southeast Asia and South African market.
The machine features astandard paving width of 2.55 metres to 4.9 metres. It can work at widths of upto 6.5 metres with the use of mechanical extensions.
The wheeled paver iseffective at placing both binding courses and surface lifts. Its capacity and sizemake it an ideal fit for larger road projects, such as highway applications.
The pavers are poweredby a highly efficient 119kW Cummins engine. The four-cylinder engine isliquid-cooled and meets all Tier-III emissions standards.
Operation is kept simplewith the help of an advanced dashboard and screed control panel createdspecifically for the AFW 500. The panel is simple to understand, and offer touchessuch as illuminated buttons that provide optimal visibility when working atnight. Integrated lighting also enhances visibility during nightshifts.
The control unitcomprises of multiple individual parts which facilitate cost-effectivereplacement.
A central 5-inch colourdisplay provides the operator with key information regarding the on-goingpaving process. The display also enables simple troubleshooting tips and alertsthe operator on maintenance needs.
The paver design, slidingseat, and dashboard improve visibility during all phases of the paving process.
A levelling system ofthe customer’s choice can be connected to the control unit. The installationplug is pre-mounted and allows for quick connection to the levelling sensorsand controls.
A lower discharge heightreduces material spillage that can lead to mat defects. The hopper height alsomatches trucks of varied sizes, increasing fleet utilisation and making iteasier to find outside haulers with appropriately sized vehicles.
Material is transportedby two independent, reversible chain belt conveyors controlled by paddlemicro-switches. Two proportional ultrasonic controls optimise materialdistribution by regulating flow to the screed.
An optimised augerensures uniform material distribution, even at wide paving widths. A smallauger drive gearbox prevents segregation and cooling of material beneath thedrive. Standard e-hydraulic auger height adjustment reduces the risk ofsegregation and ensures sufficient material beneath the gearbox.
An e-hydraulic deviceunloads the weight of the screed, thereby enabling an increase in paving depth, which improves traction by transferring the weight of the screed to the wheels. The raised screed position is maintained when the machine is on standby mode.
A user-friendly screedcontrol box enables the operator to stay in control and clear layout for easyoperation.
