Gati-KWE, an Allcargo Group company and oneof India’s premier express logistics and supply chain solutions providers, hasannounced that it will launch its largest Surface Transhipment Centre(STC) in Delhi, in June this year, which is spread over 1.5 lakh sq. ftarea. To build the facility, Gati-KWE has taken up space at AllcargoLogistics’ 1.8 million sq. ft. logistics park at Farukh Nagar.
Located on Western Peripheral Expressway inDelhi, the state-of-the-art, tech-enabled STC will offer superior transit time,accuracy in cargo delivery, and high locational advantage of access to allmajor National Highways. The company has plans to come up with four more STCsin the near future.
Apart from consolidating Gati-KWE’s logisticsoperations on the outskirts to decongest the city, the STC adheres to the greenbelt requirement. The facility has been conceptualised to achieve economy ofscale and provide unparalleled customer service. It will have the capacity toprocess cargo for short-haul deliveries in North India and long-haul movementsacross the country.
“The STC will havethe capability to process and transport a massive volume of cargo thanks to thetechnology integration in the operations and time-defined short-haul andlong-haul connectivity,” saidBala Aghoramurthy, Deputy Managing Director, Gati Ltd.
Gati-KWE is also working towards buildingcompetence for enabling short-haul movement from the Farukh Nagar STC toDelhi/NCR and the entire North India so that its customers from far south ornorth-east will be able to transport goods to North India in record time. The facility has been designed to process cargoloads of almost 100 trucks a day.
