GRUAS MAULE ENTERS CRANE RENTALS WITH NEW DEMAG® CC 3800-1 LATTICE BOOM CRAWLER CRANE

ZWEIBRÜCKEN –
March 9, 2018 – Expanding its operations, Chilean based Gruas Maule recently acquired a new Demag® CC 3800-1 lattice boom crawler crane. Gruas Maule operates several fish oil factories, performs coal exportation and runs a construction company. The crane is part of a new venture for the company and is already scheduled to perform several jobs in the mining and wind power industries. The new Demag CC 3800-1 crawler crane is the first machine of its kind purchased by Gruas Maule and among the largest units found in South America.
“Entering the crane rental business is a big decision for our diverse organization,” says Eduardo Quezada, CEO of Gruas Maule. “We wanted to make sure we had the right team and right equipment to ensure our new venture would be successful. Rolando Echeverria, our operations manager, is well versed in the crane market and the different manufacturers that supply equipment to our region. It was his in-depth research and expertise that lead us to purchase the Demag CC 3800-1 crawler crane. We know we’ve made an excellent decision.”

According to Echeverria, he found the Demag CC 3800-1 to have the best load chart and the team at Terex Cranes Latin America had a solid track record for providing service and support after the sale. “For the type of work we plan to do, the CC 3800-1 will give a real competitive advantage in our region and ensures we can perform the most demanding jobs in the mining and wind power industry. We are excited to put this machine to work.”
Gruas Maule took delivery of its newly commissioned crawler crane in early January at the Chilean port of Mejillones Terex Cranes crawler crane trainer, Sönke Eichhorn as well as Alexandre Vaccari, Service Supervisor Latin America and Service Engineer Felipe Inagaki were on hand for the event and provided training for the whole crew.

The Demag CC 3800-1 has a nominal capacity of 650 tonnes, a load moment of 8484 mt and can erect wind turbines up to a 117-m hub height.
