The world is not enough

A world recordin Concrete Paving was set recently with the use of Wirtgen SP 1600 SlipformPaver.

PatelInfrastructure Ltd., an established construction, development and maintenanceservice company, created history by completing 1.28 km of 8-Lanes (2.56 kmstretch of 4-lanes) in just 24 hours. This record – which is a world record –at the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway Project was established by using Wirtgen SP1600 Slipform Paver, which is the World’s largest Concrete Paver with pavingwidth of 18.75m in a single pass.

The World recordhas been achieved in four categories and is recognized by both the India Bookof Records and the Golden Book of World Records for:

-         Highest Quality Pavement QualityConcrete in 24 hours.

-         Largest Quantum of Concreteproduced by Ready Mix Concrete Plant in 24 hours.

-         Laying of Pavement QualityConcrete continuously in 24 hours.

-         Area of Rigid Pavement QualityConcrete laid in an Expressway in sq. mtrs., in 24 hours.

The job startedat 8.00 am on February 1, 2021 and was completed by 8.00 am the next morning,totalling 2.58 km each in four lanes, with a width of 18.75 meters, covering anarea of 48,711 square meters. The record is part of the greenfieldDelhi-Vadodara-Mumbai, 8-lane expressway project developed by NHAI and is beingcarried out by the world’s largest fully automatic ultra-modern concrete pavermachine – SP 1600 Slipform Paver by Wirtgen.
