Epiroc adds to CB Concrete Buster range

Epiroc is now addingthe CB4500, the new model designed for carriers in the  40 to 55 tonnes weight class, to its popularCB Concrete Buster range. The company had recently added two new models – forheavier carriers – to its popular CB Concrete Buster range: the CB 5500 and CB  7500, designed forcarriers in the 50 to 85 tonnes weight class. Due to their comparatively light weight, CB ConcreteBusters are effective choices for use with high reach or long front carriers, for applications with highly abrasive material and low level of visibility ofthe product in operation. They arealso suitable where noise is an issue and they can be used in residential areaswhere hydraulic breakers are not permitted.

As construction and demolition contractors worldwide have discovered, CB ConcreteBusters, with their wide jaw openings and high cracking forces, are ideal fordemolishing thick foundation walls and they make light work of cracking girdersand heavy concrete at extreme heights.

Designedwith productivity in mind

CB Concrete Bustersare equipped with two powerful hydraulic cylinders which deliver virtuallycontinuous closing force for maximum productivity.  The hydraulic cylinders are fully protectedby piston rod guards. An integrated speed valve gives faster working cycles. Offeringimpressive cracking forces of up to 190 tonnes depending on the model, CBConcrete Busters are equipped with two independently moving jaws that eliminatedisplacement force, thus lowering stress levels. Cutting blades are bothreplaceable and reversible. A productive feature on all CB Concrete Busters is360° endless hydraulic rotation, which allows precise handling and optimalpositioning. If the cutter grips the material at an oblique angle, a built-inpressure relief valve allows a ‘self-acting movement’ that brings the cutterjaw into the ideal position. This valve effectively protectsboth the carrier and the cutter from potentially damaging reaction forces.

Afull range

The new CB 4500 modeloffers a crushing force of 130 tonnes at the jaw tip. Jaw opening for the modelis 1,400 mm. The complete CB range now comprises seven models with service weightsfrom 320kg to 7,400kg, for carriers weighing from 2.0 tonnes to 85 tonnes.
