Tadano HK 70truck-mounted crane for Hans Frey Mobilkran

Lauf an der Pegnitz, July 3, 2020 Managingdirector, owner, dispatcher, driver: Hans Frey is all this in one. And he needsa crane that fulfils exactly four requirements: It has to be able to be usedflexibly, be extremely manoeuvrable, highly robust and economical when it comesto operating costs. In addition, the positive experiences that companies havewith Tadano lead to more cranes being bought from Lauf an der Pegnitz.Recently, there is - rarely - a Tadano HK 70 on site at Hans Frey Mobilkran, which was founded in 2000. This is because Hans Frey is out on the job with itmost of the time all over Bavaria.

Economical and easy to maintain

‘From my site in Mauern, I’m somewhere in Bavaria prettymuch every day, supporting construction companies and carpenters with variousjobs. Often, the sites of the jobs are quite far from each other. And I’m neveron site more than one to two days. So for me the only option was a high-speedsolution from Tadano. It really saves me a lot in operating costs. It’s got lowfuel consumption. Wear parts, such as tyres, are reasonably priced because thecrane is mounted on a Volvo standard model. On my routes, I can really getmoving and thanks to both the spacious cabins, driving and operating the craneare very easy,’ explains Hans Frey, adding: ‘I don’t need any permits forsingle routes with the HK 70. And if I have to cross any bridges, I meet thoserequirements with the crane, too. It makes work so much easier when a bit ofadministration work is avoided, particularly in my one-man business. Althoughthe remote control and very high lifting capacity are of course also goodarguments for the HK 70.’

A Tadano customer since 2002

Hans Frey’s first crane from Lauf an der Pegnitz was aused one – a FAUN HK 35 which he used for 14 years and with which he was verysatisfied. Buying the HK 70 with a 41-metre mast as well as a double-foldingjib is a milestone for him. It’s the first new crane in the history of thecompany. It’s important to Hans Frey to have a compact crane to hand that isalso more powerful: ‘The space available on building sites is changing. It’sall getting more compact. With the HK 70, there’s no reason for me to lose anysleep over that. The crane’s manoeuvrable.’ Other than that, Hans Frey doesn’texpect any more from his new Tadano than from any other Tadano: that it’slong-lasting and that there is no downtime. A crane that can do any job and isindestructible. Hans Frey and his HK 70 have already finished the first of aninfinite number of jobs: assembling an 8-tonne cellar wall.
