Going the extra mile

Established in 1979, ElectroMech is the largest manufacturer of industrial overhead cranes in India and among the top ten in Asia. The company is now present in close to 60 countries.

Africa, in particular, has been a successful continent for the company. The case in question is the crane supplied in East Africa, for one of the largest machine shops. The client is a reputed provider of engineering and fabrication services for various industrial sectors, viz., automobiles, capital goods, and supply and installation of solar water heating systems.

The 32T double girder crane stands over a giant vertical lathe machine, one of the largest in East Africa. With a span of 15m, it covers the bay length of 50m. The crane is designed for utmost safety of the property and personnel in the machine shop.

ElectroMech’s double girder EOT cranes are rugged in construction and are deployed for wide range of hoisting capacities and applications. Their cranes combine high speed and high hook for steel, metal and various other sectors which need heavy service.

With SWLs ranging from 1T to more than 200T, ElectroMech cranes incorporate either standard ABUS crabs for up to 100T SWL or fully customised open winch type crabs. ElectroMech’s fully customised double girder cranes are suitable for varied duty cycles for a large range of spans, heights of lift and customisable speeds.

They are provided with multiple hoisting trolleys running on the same bridge or auxiliary hoisting mechanisms on the main trolley. Precise control of all motions is achieved through variable frequency drives.

“We go the extra mile,” says the management of the company. “Cranedge, our wholly-owned subsidiary is a professional service company dedicated to providing complete after-market service. Our commitment is to provide 24x7 fitness for a wide range of material handling equipment. We are the only service company to ensure turnaround time of 48 hours for resolution of any operational issue our customers may have.”
